Rust Battle
$1.75 for 3 Minutes Rust and corrosion are facts of life on South Padre Island. Make sure that you wash your vehicles often to combat it. The salt air hit’s hard and fast. The Isle Wash is the only car wash on the island.
Groceries
While on South Padre Island, get you groceries at the Blue Marlin. The prices are a little higher than the Walmart in Port Isabel, but it worth it not to have to cross the bridge back to the mainland.

Flying Geico Gecko
Every day in March, there’s a small prop plane pulling a Geico billboard back and forth along South Padre Island. Today it was joined by several other planes also dragging ads.
El Cristo de los Pescadores
The “Christ of the Fishermen” memorial is located at the southern tip of South Padre Island in Isla Blanca Park. The inscription reads: FATHER! RECEIVE THE SOULS OF THE BRAVE FISHERMAN WHO HAVE SAILED THROUGH THIS PASS AND NEVER RETURNED
